About the service

Svenska kraftnät is looking for 4 unit managers for the IT Power Systems and Electricity Market department, an area in rapid growth. The 4 roles are:

  • Unit Manager Model Management Applications
  • Head of Unit Electricity Market Applications
  • Unit Manager Balancing Applications (Alfa)
  • Head of Unit System Analysis Applications

As Head of Unit, you will be responsible for your staff and the unit's budget, as well as being a member of the management team and steering groups. You will also be responsible for meeting the increased demands on the unit's ability to deliver appropriate, value-creating and effective management and further development of our IT delivery. You will be responsible for the unit's recruitment and procurement of consultants.

The role of Head of Unit will involve planning, implementing, following up and reporting back to the Head of Division on the work of the unit. Furthermore, you are responsible for the unit and contribute to the department's and division's operational development, planning and follow-up. The position will also involve acting as a change leader and, in collaboration with others, actively contributing to developing more efficient working methods where necessary.

As Head of Unit, you will contribute to solving challenges related to staff management, budget management, resource planning and resource allocation for operational projects and management of the roles for which the unit is responsible.

The units belong to the IT department for power systems and electricity market, which consists of 7 units with just over 150 employees. 

About you

We are looking for you who have a college/university education of at least 120p/180hp, or equivalent education/work experience that Svenska kraftnät considers equivalent.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Experience in business management from organizations in change and growth.
  • Current and relevant work experience in IT, preferably with a focus on management/development
  • Very good understanding of the interaction between development projects, management and operations
  • Experience with management models, e.g. PM3, project management methodology e.g. PPS, ITIL framework
  • Experience in management and monitoring, both financial and operational
  • Managerial experience of operations with at least 10 people and recent managerial experience with direct reports in IT management/development
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Experience and knowledge of information and IT security work in complex environments
  • Experience as a manager in organizations with high availability requirements and 24/7 operations
  • Experience of agile working methods
