Mackverket was founded on a simple but clear idea – a sandwich is a meal. A meal that deserves time, craftsmanship, and care from raw ingredients to serving. Today, Mackverket runs five restaurants in Stockholm as well as catering and food truck operations, focusing on generous flavors, quality, and a warm guest experience.
The company is family-owned with quick decision-making processes and a strong entrepreneurial culture. Here, a professional kitchen is combined with a family atmosphere where both guests and employees should feel welcome.
Mackverket is now looking for an Operations Manager who wants to take overall operational responsibility for the restaurant business and help develop the company further.
Your role
Mackverket is now strengthening its organization with an Operations Manager who will have overall responsibility for restaurant operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring stable operations, high quality, good profitability, and a consistent guest experience in line with the company's concept and values. You will lead and monitor operations across multiple units and act as a clear link between owners/management and day-to-day operations.
During the first 6–12 months, you will work closely with the COO with the aim of gradually taking over full operational management responsibility. The role is both operational and development-oriented and may eventually grow into broader operational or management responsibility.
Your main responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the daily operations of Mackverket's restaurants, with a focus on efficiency, structure, quality, and a consistent guest experience.
- Monitoring and analysis of key figures such as sales, margins, staffing, waste, and guest satisfaction, as well as translating analysis into concrete improvement measures.
- Personnel and leadership responsibility for unit managers and team leads, including coaching, follow-up, and development of leadership and working methods.
- Ensuring effective scheduling, staffing, and induction, as well as actively working with culture and values.
- Responsibility for compliance with food hygiene, self-monitoring, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Introduction, development, and follow-up of common procedures and standardized working methods between units.
- Participation in budget work and monitoring of personnel costs, raw material costs, and profitability at the unit level.
- Participate in developing and following up on the business plan adopted by the board.
- Participate in the launch of new restaurants or concepts and act as a sounding board for management on issues relating to operations, product range, and business development.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is a confident and attentive leader with experience in a managerial role in a restaurant, café, or fast casual business. Ideally, you will have been responsible for several units and be accustomed to managing other managers or team leads.
You work in a structured and business-driven manner, with a good understanding of finance and key figures, and thrive in a role where you balance guest experience, employee well-being, and profitability. As a person, you are clear and communicative, with the ability to set requirements and give feedback with warmth and respect. You are decisive, pedagogical, and accustomed to translating direction and goals into practical implementation in everyday life.
You share Mackverket's values regarding craftsmanship, generosity, and the family atmosphere, and see the value in being present in the business.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in operational management in restaurants or related businesses, as well as documented experience in managing large teams.
- Good system skills, including experience with cash register/POS systems, scheduling, and basic financial monitoring.
- Very good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- B driver's license.
Experience in multi-unit operations, catering, events, or food truck operations, as well as working in family-owned or fast-growing companies, is a plus.
Our offer
At Mackverket, you will be offered a central and influential role in a value-driven company with short decision-making processes and a high level of commitment. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the owners and management, influence the development of the business, and be part of an exciting growth journey.
The position is a permanent position based in Stockholm. Working hours are mainly weekdays, but evenings and weekends may be required when necessary.
