Communications Manager for the Swedish Travel Industry Association

Communications Manager for the Swedish Travel Industry Association
alternate text Stockholm

The travel industry is the world's largest employer, employing an estimated 10% of the world's population. The Swedish Travel Industry Association (SRF) was founded in 1937 and today represents most of the country's travel agencies and tour operators - about 300 companies, which corresponds to about 85% in terms of turnover. Our members are of all kinds and represent both large and small travel agencies and tour operators, event organizers, online travel agencies, etc. Travel companies work mainly with outgoing but to some extent also incoming business (hospitality industry).

SRF is the main owner of TRAC - Travel Academy, the travel industry's vocational training program for tourism and travel consultants. The two-year course provides skills for working in a tour operator, travel agency or in the hospitality industry.

SRF monitors its members' rights and obligations in sector-wide issues. We influence parliament, the government and authorities when it comes to investigations and legislative proposals that affect our members' activities. At the international level, SRF works closely with the European travel companies' umbrella organization ECTAA in Brussels. We are represented on boards and committees at national and international level.
