The role

As a Business Controller at Norex, you will work closely with the business, focusing on analysis, follow-up, and operational decision support. In this role, working closely with the business means that you actively seek to understand the business through dialogue with the organization and regular site visits in Sweden and Finland.

You will be expected to identify deviations, analyze causes, and translate your insights into clear recommendations and decision-making support. This role is suitable for someone who is analytically minded, curious about the business, and enjoys working hands-on to understand how numbers and operational activities are connected.

We are looking for an analytical and business-minded person who thrives in a role where you can combine in-depth analysis with close collaboration with the business. At the same time, you have the ability to translate analyses into actual recommendations.

To succeed in this role, you are communicative and confident in dialogue with various functions within the organization, from management to operational managers in the field. You work in a structured manner, are proactive in your approach, and have a strong desire to contribute to improvements and business development.

Work tasks

• Responsible for margin and deviation analyses related to volume, price/mix, cost drivers, inventory, and capital tied up
• Identify root causes behind deviations and develop recommendations and proposed measures
• Develop decision-making documentation for management and the CFO, including risk assessments and financial impact analyses
• Engage in dialogue with site managers and operations regarding follow-up, analysis, and measures
• Participate in and contribute to budget and forecasting processes
• Deliver monthly and quarterly follow-ups with a focus on insights and prioritized measures
• Initiate and follow up on improvement initiatives together with the business
• Conduct site visits in Sweden and Finland to gain an understanding of the business
• Contribute to the development of reporting and BI support for analysis

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in the role of Business Controller or similar
• Experience of financial follow-up, analysis, and operational controlling
• Good understanding of income statements and balance sheets
• Experience of analyses related to inventory, capital tied up, and turnover rate
• Experience of investment calculations is an advantage
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One or similar, as well as working with BI tools such as QlikSense

We see that you have an academic background, such as a degree in economics or engineering, and have good knowledge of Excel and the Office suite. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and English is required. Knowledge of Finnish is an advantage.
